Start with soft foods cut small
Chew on both sides at once
Add harder foods gradually
Avoid very sticky or chewy items early
Take smaller bites than you used to

Small adjustments in the early weeks are part of the process, not a problem. Come back if:

  • A sore spot is not settling after a few days
  • The denture clicks, slips, or feels loose
  • Chewing is still difficult after a few weeks
  • Anything is rubbing hard enough to break the skin
  • Something has cracked or chipped

Do not try to file or adjust a denture yourself, and do not rely on adhesive to fix a fit problem. Both tend to make the underlying issue worse.
